Piotr Litwa (born March 29, 1964 in Katowice) is a Polish mining engineer and politician, a technical doctor, in the years 2014-2015 the Silesian Governor. Curriculum vitae

In 1988 he graduated from the Mining Faculty of the Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice with a specialization in mining technology. In 1996, he started a two-year postgraduate studies in mining legal issues at the University of Silesia, as well as a doctoral degree in 2000 at the Mining Department of the AGH University of Science and Technology in Cracow.

Initially he worked at the Mining Works Enterprise in Katowice, in 1992 he went to the District Mining Authority in Katowice, and in 1995 to the Mining Authority. In 2000 he became the director of the District Mining Authority in Bytom and then in Gliwice. Since January 14, 2005, he was the Vice President of the Mining Authority, and became its President on November 1, 2008.

On March 12, 2014, he took over the office of Silesian province governor, replacing Zygmunt Łukaszczyk. This function was completed by December 8, 2015.
