K'inich K'uk 'Bahlam II
Glyph with the name of the ruler
K'inich K'uk 'Bahlam II also known as Bahlum K'uk' II or Mahk'ina Kuk - Mayan ruler of the city of Palenque and the successor of K'inich Kan Bahlama III. Probably prevailed in the years 764-783.
He was the son of K'inich Ahkal Mo 'Nahba III and Men Nik. He joined the throne on March 4, 764, but the details of his reign remain unknown. It is known that he is responsible for several construction projects, including the modification of the interior of the royal palace and the tower erected by his father. He is also responsible for creating a stone panel with 96 glyphs describing, among others, the Palenque chronology and the ceremonies marking the end of k'atun in 783. The panel itself was created on the occasion of the twentieth anniversary of the ruler's rule and is considered one of the masterpieces of classical Mayan sculpture.
The ruler died probably around 783.
