Stanisław Jarocki (production designer)
Stanisław Jarocki (born 10 November 1887, died 8 October 1966) is a painter, stage designer. Curriculum vitae Stanisław Jarocki was born in Lviv and his parents were Teofil Jarocki and Sabin from Ostrowska. After graduating from the 6th grade, he completed his education by studying in Lviv at the State School of Decorative Industry and Painting under the supervision of J. Bałlo, W. Kryciński, S. Reychan and W. Rybkowski. After graduating in 1908 he went on to study in France, Italy, Germany and Vienna. On his return to Lviv he took up decorative painting. In the churches and churches, among others in Lviv, Stryj and Drohobycz, he made polychromes. From 1913 to 1914 he worked with his teacher, J. Bałła in Sofia, in the famous Orthodox church of Bojan, working on the preservation and reconstruction of historic frescoes. At the same time he began to work in the field of scenography. In Lviv he performed his first works in this field. The opera decorator in Odessa after the outbreak of World War I and later the decorator of the dramatic theater in Kharkov, where he also served as the polychrome artist of the Catholic Church. After returning home from 1919 to 1921 he worked in Warsaw as a production designer. In 1922 he left Warsaw to Poznan, where he was associated mainly with the Opera, but he also worked for the Teatr Polski and from 1929 to 1939 for the theaters in Łódź and Warsaw he delivered his projects. Since 1945 he has worked in theater theaters Jelenia Gora and Poznan. Since 1947 he has been a collaborator of operas in Poznan, Bytom and Wroclaw. He permanently lived in Puszczyków near Poznań, where he died October 8, 1966. From 1911 his wife was Stefania Niemczakowska with whom he had daughters Wladyslaw (born 1915) and Jadwiga (born 1912).
In the interwar period, the most notable achievements were the decorations of the Baltic Legends, Borys Godunov, Casanova, Eros and Psyche, Giocondy, Aida, Faust, the Heavenly comedy and others. His work has been exhibited in Poland and abroad, among others. in Frankfurt in 1926, at the exhibition "Ogniwo" in Poznan, in 1937 at the World Exposition in Paris, where he won the Grand Prix for the decorations and costumes for Kordian and the Consortium Fiesca. In 1958 he participated in the Moniuszko exhibition, and in 1962 he was at the exhibition of scenography, with his productions made after the war, including the decorations he made for the Poznań Opera to Kniazia Igor, the Freedman, Lakme, the Dutchman Tułacz and Paria.
