Yevgen Popov (bobsleigh)


Yevgeny Sergievich Popov (Russian: Евгений Сергеевич Попов, born April 25, 1976 in Krasnoyarsk) is a Russian bobsleaker, World Cup winner. Career

He achieved his greatest career success in the 2006/2007 season when he won the FIVB World Cup. He was ahead of Steven Holcomb from the US and Canadian Pierre Lueders. He never won the World Cup medal. The best result at this event was achieved during the 2007 World Cup in Lake Placid, where he was sixth in the four. In 1998 he competed at the Nagano Olympic Games, finishing in 21st place in two. Four years later, the Salt Lake City games in the same competition were fifteenth, with four in the eighth. He also participated in the 2006 Olympic Games in Turin and four years later in the Vancouver Games, occupying the ninth and eighth place respectively in four.
