Shangpa (or Shangpa) - one of the two original Kagyu lines, one of the four main traditions of Tibetan Buddhism. The most important modern representative of this tradition was Kalu Rinpoche (1905-1989), one of the most eminent Kagyu masters in the 20th century.
The tradition of Shangp was founded by Khjungpo Naldzior (according to legend 918-1079). Khjungpo Naldzior studied Tibetan traditions of Bön and Dzogchen and then went to Nepal where he met Sumati Akat. He became a translator and went to India, where, according to legends, he studied under the direction of one hundred and fifty teachers. He became a master of esoteric and exoteric doctrines and meditations. His most important teachers were Sukhasiddhi, Rahulagupta and Nigum, Naropa's partner. Many legends were received directly from dak. The most famous disciples of Khjungpo Naldziora were Mehu Tonpa, Mogchokpa and Shogomoto Senge. One of the masters of this school, Buton Rinchen Drup, gave the Conghapie line of Curtona Curtis uhjasamada Shangri-La Dorje.
The main practices of Shangpa Kagyu are the Mahakali tantras, the Chakrasamvara, the Hajajas, the Guhajasamada and Mahamai, the Mahamudra and the six doctrines of Nigum. All practices from Niguma are referred to as "golden dharmas" because of the fact that Khjungpo Naldzior offered gold for the study he received during each expedition to India. They are compared to the tree. The root of this tree is the six jig of Niguma, the stem is mahamudra. Three branches are three integrations. It is about the experience acquired through the practice of the six jogas and mahamudra, integrated into everyday life. Later there are two flowers: white and red dakini. Then there is the fruit, the state of the Buddha: immortality of the mind and no error.
