Keriman Halis


Keriman Halis Ece (born February 16, 1913 in Istanbul, January 28, 2012) is a Turkish model and pianist from the tribe of Abkhaz. Curriculum vitae

He comes from a family of neglected. She was born in Istanbul as one of the six children of Tevfika merchant Halis Beja. Among her relatives was the famous composer Muhlis Sabahattin Ezgi and composer Neveser Kökdeş.

In July 1932 she won the Miss Turkey competition. She represented Turkey at the Miss Universe competition, taking place in Spa, where she defeated competitors from 27 countries. She was the only Turkish woman who achieved such success in international beauty contests.

On June 21, 1934, the Turkish president, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, gave her family the name Ece (queen).

She was married twice (Orhan Sanus and Hasip Tamer Bej). She died in 2012 in Istanbul. Bibliography
