Jónas Árnason


Jónas Árnason (born on May 28, 1923 in Vopnafjörður, died April 5, 1998) - an Icelandic writer and cultural activist.

In his work, he touches topics from everyday life, eg fishermen. He mainly creates dramas, including Skjaldhamrar (translated by "Dialog" 1977 No. 3), Jörund, king of the dog times (1984); in these plays he treated Iceland's history with humor and irony. He also published series of stories Ludzie (1954) and More Ludzie (1984), a collection of poems and limericks Cuda i dziwy (1995), he wrote lyrics and translated into Icelandic foreign songs (including Bob Dylan) Bibliography
