Acoustic examination
The acoustic examination is the simplest hearing test of a human being, based on the natural way of communicating with the environment, i.e. speaking. This test only denotes hearing by air conduction, usually for each ear separately.
In the study, sets of words are used in which the appropriate proportions of bass and treble are maintained. The Abramowicz and Małowist acumetric tables, Iwankiewicz's numerical test, as well as Borkowska-Gaertig's word lists for the indicative examination of hearing acuity in children aged 6-12 years were developed for the Polish language. Test procedure
The test takes place in a quiet room without reverberation. The person performing the examination (ENT, audiologist, hearing care professional, trained nurse) places himself in the position of the subject so that he can not read from the mouth and he utters a set of words in a whisper from a distance of 4-6 meters. It is important for the researcher to maintain the same level of voice intensity. The subject's task is to repeat the words he has heard. Usually, each ear is examined separately, therefore the unexpected ear should be adequately drowned out.
