Simon (Kazan Metropolitan)

Szymon (Simeon, September 26, 1649) - Bishop of the Russian Orthodox Church, perhaps of Serbian origin. Curriculum vitae Probably came from Serbia and served as a bishop in one of the Ephesians of the Constantinople Patriarchate incarnated in that jurisdiction after the conquest of Serbia by the Ottoman Empire (formerly the Serbian Orthodox Church). However, it is not mentioned in any list of Serbian bishops in the mid-seventeenth century. Perhaps Simon was deprived of the cathedral at the request of the lay authorities and transferred to the state of rest by the patriarch of Constantinople and then went to Russia. The Metropolitan of Kazan was one month after the death of the previous ruler of Matthew, according to the order of Joseph's patriarch of February 7, 1646. The church documents are usually called Simeon, while the secular documents call him Simeon.

He participated in the Council of Earth at the turn of 1648/1649. About his activity in Kazan no information. He died in 1649 and was buried in the Annunciation Cathedral in Kazan.
