Piotr Pospiełow
June 20, 1898 in Kuzniecowo in the Governorate of Tver, April 22, 1979 in Moscow) - Soviet politician, Secretary of the Central Committee of the CPSU (1953-1960), deputy member Politburo of the CPSU (1957-1961), deputy to the Supreme Soviet of the USSR (1946-1966), Editor-in-Chief of Truth (1940-1949).
Since 1917, a party activist and trade unionist in Tver, he studied at the Agricultural Academy in Moscow. Since 1918 he was in command of the party authorities in Siberia and in the Urals, after the Chelabi occupation by the anti-Communist troops he was active in the conspiracy as a member of the Central Bureau of Trade Unions. He also acted in the Bolshevik partisanship in Siberia. In 1920 directed to party work in Tver and Novgorod. Since 1931 the editorial staff of "Bolszewik" and "Prawda". Since 1937 deputy chief of the Propaganda Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party (CCC) (b). He participated in the editing of the "Short Course of History of the WKP (b)". He was one of the compilers of Joseph Stalin's short biography (1947). 1940-1949 was editor-in-chief of "Truth". Actively engaged in writing articles praising Stalin and falsifying the history of the communist movement in Russia and the civil war in Russia. From 1946 to 1966 he was deputy to the Supreme Soviet of the USSR. From 5 March 1953 to 4 May 1960 Secretary of the Central Committee of the CPSU, and from 29 June 1975 to 17 October 1961 deputy member of the Politburo of the CCP. He participated in the preparation of the speech of Lavinia Beria at Stalin's funeral in 1953. Although he repeatedly expressed his devotion to Stalin, during the struggle for power in the CPSU following Stalin's death in 1953, Khrushchev unhesitatingly supported. 1961-1967 was director of the Institute of Marxism-Leninism at the CPSU Central Committee.
