Daniel Bacquelaine
Daniel Marie Alain Bacquelaine (born 30 October 1952 in Liège) is a Belgian and Walloonian physician, self-governor and politician, longtime parliamentarian, and since 2014 a federal minister. Curriculum vitae
He completed his medical studies at the Université de Liège, then educated in Bordeaux, obtaining specialization in mesotherapy. He became involved in political activities within the Walloon Liberal Reform Liberal Party, contributing to the Reform Movement with him and in 2008 headed the party structures in the province of Liège. In 1982 elected Chaudfontaine councilor, in 1988 joined the city executive as echevin, corresponding to for finance and sports. In 1992, he became mayor, successfully applying for the next term.
In 1994, he became a member of the House of Representatives for the first time, replacing Jean Gola during his term of office. He was re-elected in 1995, 1999, 2003, 2007, 2010, and 2014. October 11, 2014 appointed as Minister for Pensions in the coalition government headed by Charles Michel.
Awarded the Officer's Cross of the Leopold Order and the Knight's Cross of the Order of the Crown. Daniel Bacquelaine is married, has three children.
