Confederate League - political organization, pressure group and nucleus of the political party, founded in May 1868 in the British colony of Vancouver Island by the local liberal politician Amora De Cosmos.

Soon after its founding it was joined by other politicians, also from the colony of British Columbia, the most famous of which was John Robson. The League organized a Yale Conference, where 26 delegates discussed and adopted a resolution to join both colonies in the Canadian Confederation. The conference resolution received considerable support in the continental part of British Columbia, while on the Vancouver Island it was received with mixed feelings. When in 1871 negotiations with the Canadian government were finally launched, the League conducted extensive press action to achieve such an association agreement that would guarantee the emergence of democratic institutions in the new province that the other provinces of Canada enjoyed.
