ABCB4
ABCB4 - gene encoding the Multidrug resistance protein 3. The ABC3 protein is encoded into the membrane proteins and also to the ABC transporters. These are proteins that transport different molecules through biological membranes. The ABC genes are divided into 7 distinct subfamilies (ABC1, MDR / TAP, MRP, ALD, OABP, GCN20, White) is a subgenus of this subfamily involved in multi-drug resistance and antigenic presentation. However, the function of this protein is not yet established, but it may be involved in the transport of phospholipids from hepatocytes to bile.
The alternative splicing method of this gene results in several products with undetected functions.
