Philonthus lybius
Philonthus lybius is a species of beetle from the genus Kappaidae and subfamily Staphylininae.
This species was described in 2013 by Lubomír Hromádek.
Beetle length of 10.1 to 10.3 mm. Black head with brown strokes, almost square, with flat eyes shorter than the temples and with four thick points between the eyes. Brown-brown antennae with yellow-brown bases of the second and third members, stretched to the rear of the ⅓. In the dorsal rows, it extends five points. Blood-red lids, slightly extended back. On the black abdomen blue metallic shine.
The afrotropic insect, known only from Ethiopia.
