Network hooks

Appendices epiploicae - anatomical structures within the large intestine, more specifically the colon.

Network nappies are structures that exaggerate from the colon, with lobular character. It is filled with adipose tissue - people suffering from obesity can have a network of hazelnuts. The ends of the intestinal wall enter into the intestinal walls formed by the intestinal wall folding on the inner side of the intestinal wall. Their position on the wall of the bowel depends on the length of the latter. With respect to the cross member, the network trailers form a single row along the lower edge of the transverse colon. On the other side of the colon, these trailers form two rows, one of which runs along the frontal surface of the bowel, and the other on the medial surface. It lies near the colon belts.

It has not been revealed what function these anatomical structures would be. Perhaps due to the plasticity of the fat filling it reduces the friction between the adjacent colonies.

Networked nappies appear during intrauterine growth, in the fetus. At this early stage of development, there is not yet enough fat ontogenesis.
