Mechanical ballet

Mechanical ballet - a film that is an experiment of the dadaist painter Fernand Léger. Producer Dudley Murphy and composer George Antheil also contributed to the film, part of a work titled Mechanisms that depicted mechanical ballet, although the makers never made the decision to synchronize the image and music. At the shows the film was presented without Antheil music. It was only August 25, 2000 that they were presented together in Antwerp at the Cultuurmarkt van Vlaaderen. Story

The animated and geometric figure of Chaplin appears at the beginning and the end of the film. So the subtitle sounds Charlot presents a mechanical ballet. This film belonged to a group manifesting the liberation of objects. This is an attempt to show that an object can also be a certain kind of art. In this movie, the character is given the role of a hero. Occasional pictures of women, as well as the approximation of smiling female lips. The production mainly focused on everyday items such as plates, pots and bottles. The images are repeated, they zoom in and out, they pulsate, they are shown from different perspectives. There is chaos on the screen. Alternatively, parts of Léger's paintings appear, among which the wheels and triangles are autonomous.
