Conventional war - a declared, direct armed conflict between organized armed forces of two or more states conducted using conventional weapons without the use of weapons of mass destruction. According to some definitions, the conventional war excludes the use of all weapons of mass destruction, according to others, excluding the use of nuclear weapons (but allows it to be deployed as a means of nuclear deterrence).

The United States Department of Defense defines conventional warfare as a "type of armed conflict between states, with a direct confrontation of the military forces of those states whose goal is to overthrow the enemy's armed forces, destroy its ability to wage war or acquire, maintain, or an opponent's policy ". The earliest mention of these creatures is dated to the fifth century BC, and its author is Herodotus. According to her, these ants inhabited the deserts of Persia and India and extracted gold from their sands. Several such creatures were kept in the residence of the King of Persia. Gold was to be obtained by caravans made up of several camels in the heat of the day, when the ants were protected underground.
