Moab (Biblical character)
Moab (Hebrew: מואב) - Biblical figure, Lot's son, and his older daughter.
Moab's origins are reported in chapter 19. After leaving Soaru, when Lot's wife was converted to a salt pillar, the refugees from Sodom and Gomorrah would reside in the cave. The elder of the daughters talked to the younger to drink Lot and co-operate with him. The biblical description mentions that from Moab the Moabites originated. The people lived in X-IX century BC. areas east to the Dead Sea. Moab's half-brother was Ben-Ammi, born from his younger daughter Lot.
