Intervention (international relations)
Intervention - a term referring to the actions of external actors influencing the internal state of a sovereign state. It encompasses a wide range of behaviors, ranging from actions with little force of coercion to acts of high intensity. Intensity of coercion is a very important factor, as it involves the freedom of local people and the external limitation of local autonomy. Interventional means of coercion
The low intensity of the coercive measures means a great deal of freedom for local actors, while their high intensity means little freedom of choice.
