In the years 1926-1932 she studied art history and archeology at the Jan Kazimierz University in Lviv (she defended her first doctorate in modern art in Poland) and in 1937-1938 the museum at the Ecole du Louvre in Paris. Since 1944 she lived in Cracow. In the years 1944-1965 she was the curator of the Gallery of Polish Painting and Sculpture of the 20th century. From 1965 to 1973 she became curator and curator of the Department of Prints (National Museum in Cracow).
She created the basis of Polish modern art, collecting works primarily of Cracow artists. He is an author of monographs, among others:
