Work of art
An example of a work of art - Michelangelo's David
A work of art - a comprehensive and synthetic artistic production of a specific meaning, characterized by high aesthetic qualities (beauty). In addition to the aesthetic function, it can also perform other functions (eg education, cognitive, practical or religious). Its creator is man - a creature equipped with a specific sensitivity (without the author does not have a work of art). This product tries to show a certain form of physical or mental reality (content). A work of art establishes a special insight into the visible or emotional world, which may be the result of a philosophical thought or a spontaneous reaction of the moment.
Works of art in terms of mobility are divided into two groups:
Movable artwork - all elements that have been identified as a work of art or have been preserved by virtue of their cultural, aesthetic or utility value, where they can be relocated. This group includes: paintings, posters, sculptures, furniture, small architecture, utility items.
Still-life artworks also meet the above requirements, but the translocation of which is very difficult or impossible: floors, ceilings, elements of architectural detail fixed to the object, buildings and their fragments, elements permanently connected with the object.
