Maarja Kangro (2009)

Maarja Kangro (born December 20, 1973 in Tallinn) is an Estonian poet, writer and translator. <<> Her parents are Leela Tungal poet and composer Raimo Kangro. She studied English at Tartu University, and after graduating she started her doctorate at the University of Tallinn. Translated into Estonian language from Italian, German and English (including works by Umberto Eco, Hans Magnus Enzensberger, Andrei Zanzotto and Valerio Magrelli.

The first collection of her poetry, titled Kurat Ornal Lumel, was released in 2006. In addition to poems, he also writes short stories and libretto to musical works (including her father's authorship). Her story has been awarded twice. Friedebert Tuglasa: In 2011 a story titled "48 tundi" published in the journal Looming and (in 2014) "Atropose Opel Meriva" published in Vikerkaar.
