Jerzy Kaczkowski


Jerzy Kaczkowski (born 16 May 1938 in Warsaw, died 14 July 1988) is a Polish bronze medalist and bronze medalist. Career

He started in lightweight (up to 82.5 kg). His most successful career came in 1965, when he won the bronze medal at the World Cup in Tehran. Only another Pole, Norbert Ozimek and Aleksandr Kidajew from the USSR were ahead of him. It was his only medal won at an international event of that rank. In 1964 he participated in the Olympic Games in Tokyo, where he finished fourth with 457.5 kg (145 kg + 135 kg + 177.5 kg). The podium defeat was with Hungarian Győző Veres by 10 kg.

Five-time champion and ten-time record holder of Poland in lightweight and lightweight.

After completing his career in 1968, he became a coach at the Legia club in Warsaw, where he was associated with a whole sports career. His most outstanding pupil is Jacek Gutowski.
