Franco Gallo


Franco Gallo (born 23 April 1937 in Rome) is an Italian lawyer, minister and professor.

He graduated from the law school in Rome, then took up his academic career. He lectured at the universities in Naples, Parma, the Roman university of Tor Vergata. He took a professorship at the LUISS University in Rome, where he was a Dean of the Faculty of Legal Studies. In the years 1993-1994 he served as Finance Minister in the government of Carl Azeglia Ciampi. Specializes in tax law. In 2004, he was appointed to the Constitutional Court for a nine-year term. From the beginning of January to September he served as president of the institution.
