Anthony Roberts - Welsh boxer, runner-up in the 1971 and 1972 British heavyweights. Amateur career
In 1970 he was a member of the Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh. Roberts fell in the quarterfinals, losing to points with Scott John Rafferty. In May 1971 he became the vice-champion of the UK in the semi-ardent category. In the final he defeated England's John Conteh. In June 1971 he was a participant in the 1971 European Championship in Madrid. He lost his first match with Yugoslavia representative Matlov Parlov. In 1972 he repeated his success, becoming the vice-champion of the UK in the semi-hardcore category. In the 1972 finale, he lost to England's William Knight.
