Mandy Haberman

Mandy Nicola Haberman (born 1956) - English engineer, entrepreneur, inventor. Docent at Bournemouth University and doctor honoris causa of this university. inventions

Her daughter was born in 1980 with the Stickler Syndrome, which caused cleft lip and palate. To help the daughter who had problems with sucking invented Haberman Feeder - an infant feeding bottle simulating breastfeeding. This special bottle allowed her to take her child from the hospital. She started mail ordering this bottle to hospitals and parents, running a company from the kitchen.

Her second invention is the Non-match Cup (Anywayup Cup) - a cup for children with a one-way valve that prevents the contents from spilling, regardless of the position. She received the British Female Inventor Award in 2000 for this invention. Initially, she tried to attract large companies to the invention, but 20 of them refused. That's why she decided to sell it herself. After the shows, she managed to interest two large supermarket chains and sell 500,000 units. The product is currently sold in millions of pieces per year.
