Óscar Escamilla


Óscar Escamilla (born 1969) is a Colombian journalist and anthropologist, currently a correspondent for the Italian ANSA.

Co-author (along with Luis Novo) of La tragedia continua (2000) about the tragic consequences of the earthquake in the Colombian city of Armenia. This essay was awarded the National Prize in Journalism and Journalism at the University of Colombian Antioch. In addition to him, Óscar Escamilla is also the author of Narcoextravagancia (2002) and Manual de autoprotección para periodistas en el conflicto colombiano (2003), a textbook for journalists who cover the armed conflict in Colombia.
