Hermann Georg Scheffauer
Hermann Georg Scheffauer (born 1876, died 1927) - American poet. He was born on February 3, 1878 in San Francisco. He was a protégé of Ambrose Bierce. He married a British poet, Ethel Talbot. He had one daughter with her, Fiona. In 1910 he moved to Germany. He died in Berlin on October 7, 1927, committing suicide. He published, among others, the volumes of Of Both Worlds (1903), Looms of Life (1908), The Masque of the Elements (1912) and Drake in California: Ballads and Poems (1912), as well as many translations from German.
