Sidney Godolphin
Sidney Godolphin (born 1610, died in 1643) - English politician and poet, counted among the group of metaphysical poets.
Sidney Godolphin was elected several times to the House of Commons. He was on the royalist side. During the civil war, he took the side of King Charles I Stuart joining the Ralph Hopton unit. He died in a skirmish in Chagford, Devon.
