Presbyterian Church of Nigeria


Presbyterian Church of Nigeria - Presbyterian religious association in Nigeria. Created in 1846 on the initiative of liberated slaves from Jamaica, Scottish Missionaries of Presbyterian and Kings of Calabar. It has 3.8 million faithful in over 2000 churches, making it the second largest presbyterian church in the world after the Presbyterian Church of East Africa. He is a member of the World Council of Churches, the Christian Council of Nigeria, the World Community of the Reformed Churches and the All-African Church Council. accepts the Westminster Confession of Faith. He practices the ordination of women. The first clergyman was established in 1982. In 2015, more than 50 Ordained Women are served in the Church.
