Melanippe

Melanippe - in Amazon mythology Amazon, sister of Hippolita and Antiope, daughter of Ares and Otrere. According to one version of the legend, she was captured by Heracles. In return for her sister's life, Hippolita was to give her her blindfold. In this way, Heracles made another of his twelve works and released the imprisoned Amazon River.

Another version of the legend says that it was Theseus who kidnapped Melanippe and married her (and not from Antiope). Still another, that she died at the hands of Telamon.
