Mieczysław Laskowski


Mieczysław Laskowski (born 13 January 1908 in Warsaw, died March 13, 1983 in Komorow) is a Polish lawyer and economist, diplomat.

He studied law and economics at the Université Pierre Mendès France in Grenoble, followed by philosophy at the Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität in Berlin. Since 1934 he was an employee of the Polish Diplomatic Corps and served as a Diplomatic Counselor at Polish consular offices in Germany, Switzerland and Lithuania. After the outbreak of World War II, he entered the ranks of the Home Army under the pseudonym "Wirski" and fought in the Warsaw Uprising. After the fall of the fighting he was captured. Since 1945 he was a short-lived employee of the Main Board of the Polish Medical Association, but due to pre-war diplomatic work he was constantly repressed and removed from his posts. His wife was Mirosława Pęska-Laskowska, a physician and a plastic surgeon.
