The Turks (Orzechowski)
Turkski - two speeches by Stanislaw Orzechowski calling for a crusade against Turkey.
Speech is part of Polish anti-Turkish literature (called turcyki). Using a number of rhetorical measures, they show the fate of the people conquered by the Turks and call for a joint action of Christian Europe against Turkey. Originally written in Latin and then translated into Polish.
The turkeys of Orzechowski consist of: Both speeches were also translated by Jan Januszowski and published by him in 1590 in Cracow as Oksza Stanisław Orzechowski for Turki's translation of Jan Januszowski. Bibliography
