Marzilibahn

A track with a track width of 900 mm (up to 1974 - 750 mm) has a length of 105 meters, a height of 32 meters and an inclination of 323 meters.
The line was launched on 18 July 1885. Until 1973 it had a water ballast. This year it has been thoroughly modernized. It carries about one million passengers a year. The upper station (Berner Altstadt) is at 540 m above sea level and the bottom (Marziliquartier) at 508 m. Bibliography
