Schönborn Palace in the Carpathians - a palace built by Count Erwin Friedrich Schönborn in the Carpathians in the years 1890-1895, at the site of a wooden building. Description
The hunting lodge was built in neo-romantic style, combining Romanesque and Gothic motifs. It has 365 windows, 52 chambers and 12 entrances. The castle is decorated with rich decor (bas-reliefs, stained glass), which translates the heraldry of Count Schönborn. The palace lives according to the clock chimes from the tower. In 1945 the property was nationalized and the hunting palace was transformed into a sanatorium of the Carpathians. Some of the palace equipment (furniture and other valuables) were handed over to the museum in Uzhgorod. Around the palace was a garden, an arboretum (presently the Carpathian sanctuary) with an ornate lake in the center of the empire. In the garden there are many rare trees, including: Canadian spruce, Japanese cherry, pink beech, hydrangea. In the palace park there are two sculptures - a deer and a bear with a bear.
