Thyristor switch

Thyristor Connector - Low Voltage, Solid State Switch.

Principle of operation

The contact mechanism is the thyristor. The switching of the switch, ie the introduction of the thyristor into the conductive state, is effected by the current flow in the gate circuit. When the operating current is reduced below the cut-off value, the thyristor switches to a stop state and switches off the switch. In AC circuits, thyristor switches are switched off using network switching. Parameters
Thyristor switches are characterized by durability (up to 10 connections) and high operating frequency (about 120 connections per hour), but they are sensitive to short circuits and overloads, which necessitate the use of special protection circuits. Due to the voltage drop on the thyristor of the order of 1 to 2 V and the heat dissipation in the operating state, radiators are required. Thyristor switches can be self-coupled under interference. They do not provide galvanic isolation in off state. Bibliography
