Irena Zakrzewska (born 1940) - Polish scientist, laboratory diagnostician, professor of medical science. Curriculum vitae

In 1986 under the supervision of doc. dra hab. Prof. Jan Prokopowicz from the Department of Clinical Diagnostics at the Medical University of Bialystok defended her doctoral thesis "Isoenzymes and alpha-amylase inhibitors in acute pancreatitis", obtaining a doctorate in medical sciences. In 1986 on the basis of scientific achievements and a complex dissertation entitled "Human granulocytes alpha-amylase" received the postdoctoral degree of medical science. In 2003 she obtained the academic title of professor. Has a specialization in clinical analysis.

She was employed at the UMB Laboratory Diagnostic Department.

Myrmex Indikos, pol. Indian ant - an alleged species of gigantic ants (according to Herodot's description, larger than foxes, but smaller than dogs). The earliest mention of these creatures is dated to the fifth century BC, and its author is Herodotus. According to her, these ants inhabited the deserts of Persia and India and extracted gold from their sands. Several such creatures were kept in the residence of the King of Persia. Gold was to be obtained by caravans made up of several camels in the heat of the day, when the ants were protected underground.
