Economics of elementary movements

Elementary economics - the principle of shaping the optimal method of work performed by a man from the perspective of the sequence of elementary movements necessary to perform the task. Standardization of methods of work consistent with the principles of the economics of elementary movements is aimed at performing the task with as few movements as the least time consuming ones performed simultaneously with both hands. Combining the principles of elementary economics with the principles of Lean Manufacturing enables the process of optimization and standardization of working methods to define more clearly value added activities and waste. Identifying activities that add value at the level of elementary movement allows for better shaping of optimal working methods and, as a result, reducing production costs.

The application of the principle of the economics of elementary movement is based on the following basic assumptions:

All of the above conditions are in line with the principles of ergonomics. The principle of economics of elementary movements is an important basis in the standardization of working methods according to the 5S method. This makes it possible to optimize the unique efficiency of the workflow while reducing the workload. History
