Addie Wyatt


Addie Wyatt (born March 8, 1924, March 28, 2012) is an American-American trade union activist. She was the first African-American woman in history to become vice-president of the international union headquarters - Amalgamated Meat Cutters. Union business began in the 1950s. She collaborated with Matin Luther King, taking part in the march to Washington. She was also the pastor of the Church of God - she was ordained in 1955. In 1975 she was in the group of American women, which Time magazine honored with the title of "Man of the Year." Bibliography
