Surzhak ("суржик," суржик - "bread or flour from a mixture of different kinds of grain") - linguistic creation within the Ukrainian language under the influence of the Russian language, which is widespread in much of Ukraine, probably also in neighboring regions of Russia.

It is difficult to classify as a Creole language, as these are the result of the acquisition by the local population of the merchant / colonizer language (pajin). It is also not pajamas as such, because the pajamas because of their primitive nature do not provide full human understanding and therefore are not native to anyone.

It can be considered as a mixed language (cf. Ponaschego), created among the suburban population as a result of mixing Ukrainian and Russian language. Grammar and pronunciation remain Ukrainian, while a significant part of the vocabulary is borrowed from Russian (the number of borrowings depends on the education and life experience of the user - many variants stand out in the glossary).

Surzyk can also be treated as a city bust resulting from the influx of Ukrainian rural population into Russian-speaking cities; In such a way, it would be a sociology.

According to sociological research, 15-20% of Ukraine's population is used, mostly in the Dnepropetrovsk, Poltava, Sumatran and Chernigov regions.
