P35-11
P35-11 - the eleventh in the order American weather satellite of the secret series Program 35, predecessor of the DMSP program. Launched into orbit on March 18, 1965.
The ship was in a synchronous orbit with the Sun. It was stabilized in rotation (12 rpm). On board the ship was a system of imaging a meteorological situation in the form of a Vidicon type TV camera (focal length 12.5 mm, resolution 5.5-7.5 km) and an infrared radiometer for measuring the content of water vapor in the atmosphere.
The main data collection station was located near the Loring Air Force base. Data was developed by Air Weather Service's Air Force Global Weather Central at the Air Force base Offut AFB, in the state of Nebraska.
The satellite burnt in the upper atmosphere on December 31, 1989. Bibliography
