Elgonidium eyed


Elgonidium oculatum - a species of beetle from the educational family and subfamily Tomoderinae.

This species was described in 2008 by Dimitri Telnov.

A beetle with a body length of 2.81 mm (in the holotype). The head and the epilepsy is light brown to yellow-brown, dark-brown covers, the underside of the body brown with yellowish-brown fourth and fifth of visible sternites, and the antennae, gills and legs dark yellow. The head has an elongated, equipped with a pair of distinct eyes and very short feelers with members from eighth to clearly transverse. The pre-bones are divided into the front and back lobes with a deep narrowing with serrated edges. The top of the protuberant is rarely covered by small but visible points. The covers are long and yellowishly hairy.

Afrotropical insect known only from Kenya.
