Siegfried Keiling


Siegfried Keiling (born 28 October 1911 in Berlin, died 12 April 1995 in Bad Homburg) is a German military major.

He served in the Wehrmacht artillery. After the German invasion of the USSR on June 22, 1941, he was involved in the formation of "eastern" collaborative units. He was awarded the Iron Cross 2 and 1 Class. In 1943 he was transferred to the reserve officer. From the end of March 1944 he commanded the 621st Eastern Artillery Division, which, after the fights on the Western Front, in the fall of 1944 entered the newly formed 2nd Infantry Division of the Committee of the Liberation of the Peoples of Russia. In December of this year, S. Keiling was promoted to major. He received the task of forming artillery units of the Armed Forces of the KONR. At the beginning of 1945 he assumed the post of Chief of Staff of the German Liaison Group at the Command of the Armed Forces of the KONR. At the end of the war he was a member of the Knight's Knights Cavalry. In 1957 he organized the German-Russian Association.
