Pekka Lehtinen


Pekka T. Lehtinen (born 1938) - Finnish arachnologist. Pekka received his doctorate in 1967. He worked at the Zoological Museum at the University of Turku until his retirement in 1999. He specialized in spiders. In his publications he described about 100 new species, the second as many species, and also created new families and subfamilies. In addition, he was interested in brushwood, some mites, wijami and ground equinoxes. He has made numerous research expeditions, especially to tropical countries.

His pupil is Seppo Koponen.

His name was named Ajmonia lehtineni, Colyttus lehtineni, Indophantes lehtineni, Lycosoides lehtineni and Styloctetor lehtineni.
