Diego Fortuna


Diego Fortuna (born 14 February 1968 in Vicenza) is an Italian athlete, discoble.

At the 1996 Atlanta Olympics he was ranked 19th in qualification and did not advance to the finals. In Sydney in 2000 also failed to get to the finals, finishing 14th in qualifying. He has competed in the World Championship four times (Göteborg 1995, Athens 1997, Seville 1999, Paris 2003), but never qualified for the finals. His biggest success at the European Championship was his fifth place (Budapest 1998), he did not advance to the finals in the other two competitions (Helsinki 1994 and Munich 2002).

He won two medals in the Mediterranean (Silver (Bari 1997) and Gold (Radis 2001). His achievements include the bronze medal of the Universiade (Fukuoka 1995). He has also won a gold medal at the World Military Games (Catania 2003). Eight times he was the Italian champion at the open stadium (1994, 1995, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2004) and six times in the hall (1995, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2003, 2008).

He recorded his life record (64.69 m) on June 24, 2000 in Ravenna. Bibliography
