Poculum, pocula - element of male genital organs in straszyków.

Poculum is a modified ninth male abdominal sternum covering the genital opening. Also referred to as "male operculum". It is a type of subgenital plate (lamina subgenitalis).

Poculum is usually divided into two sternites, the rear of which is called the subgenital lobe.

The term 'poculum' was probably introduced in 1970 by Key and originally referred only to the rear sternite. However, in 1989, Nichols referred in his key to the entire IX sternum, as did Bragg in 1997.
