William Henry (born November 14, 1743 in London, died August 25, 1805 ibid) - prince of Great Britain and Ireland, Brunswick and Lüneburg (colloquially Hanover), from November 19, 1764, prince Gloucester and Edinburgh and count Connaught; Wojskowy, from 1793 marshal of the field
He was born as the fourth son (the fifth of nine children) Prince of Wales Fryderyk Ludwik and his wife Princess Augusta Sachsen-Gotha. He was the grandson of King George II of Great Britain and his wife, Queen Caroline.
On May 27, 1762, he was awarded the Garter Order. He was a member of the Secret Council and the Royal Society.
On September 6, 1766, in London, he married the widowed August 8, 1763 after the death of Count Waldegrave James Waldegrave Maria Walpole, becoming her second husband. The couple had three children:
