George Cadbury

George Cadbury (born September 19, 1839 in Birmingham, died October 24, 1922 ibid) - British industrialist and social reformer.

He was a co-owner of the Cadbury Brothers chocolate factory, and in 1879 he and his brother Richard transferred the factory from Birmingham to Bournville (then the rural suburbs of Birmingham, now again within Birmingham). For his workers he introduced a private social security program and improvement of working conditions - he built a housing estate for workers called the Village Trust (313 buildings surrounded by gardens); later it became the model for the so-called cities of gardens in the suburbs. The earliest mention of these creatures is dated to the fifth century BC, and its author is Herodotus. According to her, these ants inhabited the deserts of Persia and India and extracted gold from their sands. Several such creatures were kept in the residence of the King of Persia.
