Ewa Faryaszewska


Ewa Faryaszewska (born April 10, 1920 in Dąbrowa Górnicza, died August 28, 1944 in Warsaw) is a Polish painter and photographer, a member of the Army of the Home Army, the author of colorful photographs from the Warsaw Uprising. She was born as a daughter of Irena Strokowska and a mining engineer Konstanty Faryaszewski - the director of the "Flora" mine. In 1938, after her father's death, she settled with her mother and her siblings in Warsaw, where she began her studies at the Faculty of Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts. She was also a scout activist within the framework of the Warsaw Chorus.

During the German occupation she was active in the independent conspiracy. She was a liaison officer of the Scout Battalion Wigry. During the Warsaw Uprising, Ewa Faryaszewska was active in the department responsible for rescuing the monuments of national culture within the so-called.
