Dioskor from Alexandria

Dioskor of Alexandria or Dioskur (d. 305-307 in Alexandria) - Christian martyr, worshiped as a saint.

Curriculum vitae <> Dioskor was the son of a lecturer from Cynopolis in Central Egypt. During the persecution of Diocletian, he was arrested in place of his father for refusing to sacrifice pagan deities and issue church records. After being transported to Alexandria, he was tortured and then beheaded. Martyrdom was probably in 305-307. There is a description of Passio's death, translated into Latin. Comments
